NEW APPEAL to complete important elephant corridor research in southern Tanzania
Dear All,
The Udzungwa Elephant Project is facing a short-term funding crisis and we are asking you to make a small contribution so that our Masters student, Lukinga Thabit, can complete his super work in the important Mtandika corridor, which is facing grave threats. Lukinga has secured the support of local and national government to save the corridor and better protect the elephants and other wildife using it, but he has to complete his surveys before the practical implementation can begin.
Lukinga has posted a new progress report here, and a breakdown of the funds required directly below this message. We thank you so much in advance for any small contribution that you can make.
Tunashukuru, Lukinga and the UEP team.
Remaining budget required to complete my Masters research:
| Expense | Timeframe | Amount (USD) |
| Academic fees, year 2 | Sept 2012-June 2013 | 898 |
| Fieldwork expenses | Sept-Nov 2012 | 1200 |
| Lodging/travel in Dar | Nov 2012-June 2013 | 880 |
| TOTAL | 2978 |
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
We are extremely grateful for your assistance. To support Lukinga’s work, please make a tax-exempt contribution following the instructions below; alternatively you can contact us directly (trevor.udzungwa@gmail.com or knowak02@gmail.com) to discuss or arrange a contribution.
